Motivational Monday!

Last night, Doug and I made it home just in time to catch the thrilling final innings of the Phillies’ playoff showdown against the New York Mets—and it was a barn burner! The lead bounced back and forth, both teams slugging it out with everything on the line. But in the bottom of the 9th, it was Nick Castellanos who delivered the clutch, game-winning RBI, sealing a dramatic victory for the Phils! Phew, I couldn’t take much more!

I share this because, for both teams, they never gave up. It’s tough when you know you HAVE TO put another run on the board just to stay even. Runs aren’t easy to come by, especially when you have some players in an undeniable batting slump. Never giving up requires hope, prayer possibly, faith, courage, unwavering commitment, resilience, and I could go on. Quitting is easy! Just quit. Let it go. Give up. Toss in the towel.

Unwittingly, we have given up a lot. We have tossed in the towel before it ever even got difficult. We have said things like, “It’ll never work,” or “I’m too old,” or “I’m not _______”—fill in the blank with smart enough, qualified enough, or just plain enough! That game could have gone either way last night. The Phils lucked out that it was a home game and they got the last at bat. What do you think we’re capable of accomplishing if we didn’t give up before we even started? Now go Google Nick Castellanos…you’ll see what, “Not quitting” looks like! I think you’ll like what you see. And if you’re a parent, watch the video until he goes to his son, behind home plate! We’re doing it for more than us.

LET’S GO!!!!!!!!! WE GOT THIS!
