“Success is about us. Significance is about others.” John C. Maxwell
Thank you, John! Sometimes we need a level-set, or simply a reminder of what we are doing and why.
Success can last a lifetime, but significance can last several lifetimes. Take a look at what you’re currently doing in your life. Success is important, don’t get me wrong. I drive for success every single day—ask my husband (LOL)! Every day I think about success, but I don’t always think about significance. Maxwell does, I’m certain. It’s the cloth he is cut from. I wish I thought about it every day, and maybe now I will.
How will you and I be significant today? And with whom? What value can we add to someone? We don’t necessarily need to know them. I am chatting with a few friends today, I will look to add value. I am hunkering down tonight with two of my daughters to watch a Christmas movie in pjs—maybe there’s value to add here, too. And tomorrow I will be at the board summit for UrbanPromise International and pray I add value there. Maybe the answer to significance is simply putting our thoughts to that before we think of success. Maybe significance makes success sweeter. Just a thought.
Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
