This week is when about 99% of all New Year’s resolutions start to unravel, so I can’t think of a better day to check in with you than today. Soooo, how’s it going? Are you still on track? Do you have your resolutions written down somewhere so you are regularly checking in to see how you are doing? Do you have a plan of how you will achieve these said goals? Do you have an accountability partner? Exactly where do you stand with these goals as of today if you were to rank them on a scale of 1-10, 10 being COMPLETE SUCCESS?
This might surprise you, but as a coach, I’m not really upset or disappointed if your resolutions have been a complete disaster and your answer to rank is that they are currently a 3 out of 10—and if you were being really honest, they are a 1. Honestly, I’m expecting it! What I get upset about is when people drop their resolutions completely because the first three weeks in January weren’t a complete success or they forget to write out goals and somehow have decided, “Now is too late.” Nooooooooooo!!!!
Today is (un)officially, “Get your butt back in the saddle day!” If you have goals written out, revisit them and make sure you have a plan of how you will accomplish each one. We didn’t make New Year’s wishes, we made goals! If it’s too big, break it down into much smaller pieces that you are likely to be able to accomplish with ease. If you didn’t write anything down, today is the day we write it out somewhere that can be revisited. Do you have an accountability partner? If not, this is crucial to your success—we will let ourselves fail but our accountability partner will have none of that defeatist talk! Lastly, consistency is your best friend when it comes to goals. Focus on small but consistent action—they are the dynamic duo that will lead you right to your goal! It’s January 20th and we just getting started!
Let’s GO! WE GOT THIS!
