Last night, Doug and I went out for a drink and a bite to eat. The goal was simply to get away from our own four walls so we could catch up without distraction. It was our attempt to pump the brakes and slow things down. We somehow got on the word “simple.” Can you breath that word in for a minute: Simple. Do you feel the peace that comes with this one 6-letter word?
Simple means not complicated. There are no layers with simple. It’s literal translation from Latin means onefold. And if we use it to describe people it means “free from pride, humble;” Wow, how refreshing is that? There’s no facade or pretense — what you get with simple people is pure authenticity — which quite frankly is about a rare as a seeing a unicorn. They are a breath of fresh air.
Does your life need some “simple” infused into it? Mine surely does! Take a step back today and look at your life with a discerning eye. Look at work, home, family, and friends. We can get caught up in the vortex of complicated, and this is true for both life and people, but we don’t need to stay there. Simple is one decision away. I didn’t say it would be easy, but it is simple. Liberate yourself. Let’s go!
With Gratitude,
Beth
